Wikipédia : Un lac est une grande étendue d’eau entourée de terre, où il suffit que la profondeur, la superficie, ou le volume soit suffisant pour provoquer un dépôt de sédiments ou une stratification (une seule condition remplie suffit à lui donner ce statut en limnologie).
Dans le langage courant, le lac est un concept assez flou ; les noms locaux donnés aux plans d’eau par la population ne s’accordent pas toujours aux définitions officielles, et c’est souvent la grande taille ou une grande profondeur qui sont alors prises en compte.

Los Tres Ojos (The Three Eyes in English) is the name given to a 50-yard open-air limestone cave located in the Mirador del Este park, in the Santo Domingo Este municipality of the Dominican Republic. A series of three lakes, or ojos, the site is currently one of the most visited tourist attractions in the country. The caves are open from 9 am to 5 pm, and are illuminated at night by many colored lights.
